Dear Toni,

I am a late-blooming writer with three published books to my credit.  I have been much less successful with a screenplay I wrote called The Killing Ground.  It is based on the life of the first white woman who traveled to the Pribiloff Islands (Alaska) in the late 1800’s.  It is a story that would inspire women and I believe it is commercially viable.  Do you have any ideas for getting it into the hands of someone who would actually read it?
Thank you in advance for helping me with this problem.

Dear Carolyn,

I looked up one of your books “ The Fugal Book Promoter:  How To Do What Your Publisher Won’t” and really loved the way you spell it out for people who are publishing for the first time or publishing on their own.  The best way to get something read in this town is to get a literary agent (which I am sure you already know) or to pass it on to a friend who knows someone who the project may be right for. Many networks and media companies don’t like to read submissions that have no representation but I think rules are made to be broken.  I would suggest you watch some of the Lifetime For Women Movies and look for the producer’s and director’s names that are attached to the movies you like and send them you treatment .

Thank you for taking the time to write.
